About Next Dollar
Next Dollar is independently built and maintained educational software and operated by Next Dollar. It is designed for U.S. personal-finance rules and currently uses reviewed 2026 federal limits. It turns the assumptions you enter into a model of which broad category may come next: cash savings, debt payoff, workplace retirement, IRA, HSA, 529, or a regular investing account.
What it does
- Shows an assumption-based priority order for common account categories.
- Explains the simplified rules and tax concepts behind the estimate.
- Shows a preview of the first move, then unlocks the full plan with a one-time payment.
- Creates optional share links, save-as-PDF copies, and downloadable trackers.
What to expect from the plan
Next Dollar is decision-support software. It gives you a transparent, rules-based starting point using the numbers and assumptions you provide. The output is designed to help you organize the next conversation or action, while leaving regulated and situation-specific decisions with the appropriate professionals and providers.
- Recommendations cover broad account categories and diversified investment building blocks, not individual security trades.
- Next Dollar does not move money, manage accounts, prepare tax returns, or act as a fiduciary.
- Employer-plan details, state rules, and personal circumstances can require confirmation outside the app.
How it is maintained
Contribution limits and phaseouts live in a centralized, versioned rules file. The release test suite runs deterministic scenarios, property checks, tracker reconciliation, security checks, and midyear/catch-up cases. The applicable rule year is shown in the product; later-year limits are labeled estimates until official.
Next Dollar does not claim professional credentials it does not have. The methodology is published so customers and qualified reviewers can challenge assumptions and report results that look wrong.
Privacy posture
The questionnaire runs in the browser. Before account creation, a draft can remain on the current device. Once you create an account, your questionnaire, recommendations, projections, and progress are stored in Supabase and protected by authenticated access and row-level security. Next Dollar never asks for a bank or brokerage login.

Before acting
Account limits, tax rules, phase-outs, employer-plan features, and state rules can change. Before making a real investment, contribution, conversion, or tax decision, review the details with a qualified fiduciary adviser, CPA, attorney, or benefits professional who can consider your full circumstances.
